Slovenia's parliamentary committees for EU affairs, foreign policy and home affairs, voted for the expansion of the Schengen Area to Croatia, Bulgaria, and Romania. MPs said they backed the government's decision with regards to the expansion.
A final decision on the issue will be made by EU's Justice and Home Affairs Council next week on Thursday. Croatia is expected to get the green light and join the Schengen zone on January 1st, while some EU countries have voiced their reservations regarding Bulgaria and Romania.
