Poklukar was already interior minister in the government of Marjan Šarec.

He now awaits a hearing before the relevant parliamentary committee. It could take place as early as this week, but the likeliest date is reportedly next Monday.

If Poklukar's bid is endorsed by parliament, he will take over at the Interior Ministry before the end of February.
