Slovenia filed a lawsuit against the European Commission for granting Croatia a derogation enabling it to use the name Teran for their own wine. The name Teran is protected by Slovenia and is used for Slovenia’s own wine produced in Slovenia’s Karst region. Slovenia will argue that the delegated act on Teran, that took effect on 21st July, is null and void because it opposes the principles of EU law and because its implementation would cause financial damage to Slovenian producers of Teran.
