Alenka Ermenc was promoted one hundred years after General Rudolf Maister established the first Slovenian army in modern history. She has been employed in the Slovenian Armed Forces for 27 years.

On Friday, Slovenia was celebrating Rudolf Maister Day in memory of the day in 1918 when the general took control of the second largest city Maribor and secured what later became Slovenia's northern border.
