The SiDG Slovenian State Forests company held its first auction of timber today in Kočevska Reka. Almost the entire offering of around 650m3 of timber was sold. Bidders also came from neighbouring countries and Germany, but most of the timber was sold to Slovenian clients. Between 2% and 3% of the timber was designated as exceptionally valuable, and will be used for producing high-end veneers for yachts, hotels and musical instruments. All the timber sold today came from state-owned forests.
