30 years ago to the day The Slovenian Press Agency published its first Slovenian and English news. By this the new state received an important communication channel, especially with the public abroad. In this period the agency published 2.5 million news and other text contents. Today the STA employs more than 80 journalists, photographers and other staff and they publish more than 350 news daily.
Despite its history and importance, the STA is struggling to survive as the government did not pay for the provision of a public service for 170 days.
