The 12^th Šarhov hike will take place today, tracing the path taken by the legendary Pohorje Battalion in WWII. The hike ends with the traditional Festival of peace organized in memory of the Partisan battalion obliterated by German forces in 1943. The keynote speaker at this year’s ceremony that starts at 3 o’clock will be the former president of The Slovenian Cultural and Economic Union Rudi Pavšič and the guest of honor will be the Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia Dejan Židan. The event is organized by the northeastern subsidiary of the Union of Veterans of Slovenia Slovenska Bistrica.
