Prime Minister Marjan Šarec has called on Slovenians to love their country, defend it when necessary and not quarrel over politics.

He made the call during a speech he made at an event marking International Peace Day at the Cerje Peace Memorial near Miren and Orehovlje, near the Slovenian-Italian border.

The event was also attended by the mayor of Miren, Mavricij Humar, and the president of the War Veterans' Association, Ladislav Lipič.
