Farmers Trade Union suspends protest activities

The Trade Union of Farmers is suspending its protest activities over ineffective government measures against wolf attacks on farm animals.

The decision comes after the union met with PM Marjan Šarec, featuring Agriculture Minister Aleksandra Pivec.

The farmers will not hold the protest planned for this Saturday.

They are also withdrawing its demand for the resignation of Environment Minister Simon Zajc.

Both sides agreed to hold another meeting in September to discuss necessary changes in managing large carnivores in Slovenia.
