President Borut Pahor will address UN General Assembly session today
President Borut Pahor will today address the general debate at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York among other world leaders.
Foreign Minister Miro Cerar and Health Minister Samo Fakin are joining him on the trip to the US, which will include a stop in Washington. The theme of this year's general debate is "Making the United Nations relevant to all people: global leadership and shared responsibilities for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies".
Pahor and Cerar held several bilateral meetings on the margins of the Assembly. Pahor met EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, with whom he discussed the Slovenia-Croatia border arbitration and his Ghanian counterpart. Pahor said that Slovenia was planning to strengthen its economic and political presence in Africa.Ta. M.
