In 1978 the thermoelectric power station Šoštanj IV begins to operate.

In 1986 in the Ukrainian electric power station Černobil 4 the worst nuclear accident ever happened. The main reasons for the accident were a flawed reactor design and poor safety. 120.000 inhabitants were evacuated.

In 1899 in Ljubljana Slovene poet Dragotin Kette dies.

Leta 121 se je rodil Mark Avrelij. Za slovensko zgodovino je pomembno predvsem to, da je kraje med Trojanami in Hrušico ter Emono priključil svoji deseti regiji.

Leta 1933 so ustanovili gestapo, tajno policijo nacistične Nemčije.

Leta 1941 je Hitler obiskal Maribor in ukazal, naj naredijo Štajersko nemško.

Leta 1978 je začela obratovati termoelektrarna Šoštanj.
