The White Flower group organised a rally against child sexual abuse in Jesenice. This comes after the case of a former headmaster who sexually abused the child of his then partner. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
The rally called for changes in the processing of such cases.
Gathering in front of a school where the convicted abuser worked, the protestors, including the mother of the victim, walked to the Jesenice Local Court, carrying white flowers as symbols of trust, innocence and purity.
A study from 2019 shows that nearly 10% of women and 3% of men experienced some form of sexual abuse before they turned 18.
