The government’s total estimate for the damages caused by the August floods is 9.9 billion euros. The sum included the direct damage, its impact on people, businesses, the environment, and restoration and post-flood activities. The floods and landslides affected 183 out of the country's 212 municipalities, covering 85% of Slovenia’s territory. The estimate will play a key role in drafting the application for funding from the EU Solidarity Fund. The early August floods and landslides are considered the worst natural disaster to have ever hit Slovenia.
