A new law for the financing of health care in Slovenia in the next 10 years has come into effect. More than 2 billion euros will be invested.
Both university clinic centres will receive over 760 million euros, general, nursing hospitals and care facilities somewhat over half a billion, special hospital 200 million. The same amount will be allocated to primary health care and for medical and pharmaceutical educational programs.
Furhter, the Slovenian government has adopted a project to boost Covid-19 vaccination, deciding to provide incentives for general practitioners and their teams who actively promote vaccination. The amount of the bonus will depend on the vaccination rate among their patients.
The goal of the project is to increase the vaccination rate, especially among citizens over 50. The project will be financed from the national budget. Heath Ministry officials said the costs had been estimated at around 4 million euros.
