The annual Museums on a Summer Night is welcoming visitors again this year. This is the 16th edition of the event. Last year 40,000 people attended the activities within the event.

As many as 71 institutions in 59 towns across the country are taking part this year. They are holding some 400 events, including 170 in Ljubljana.

These include guided tours of collections and exhibitions, exhibition openings, workshops for children and adults, fashion shows, concerts, film screenings, talks, tastings and various demonstrations.

Aleksandra Berberih Slana, the head of the Slovenian Museum Association, said that it is an informal festive day for all institutions. Museums, galleries and other guardians of cultural heritage are opening their doors, present themselves in the best possible way and are promoting cultural heritage.
