Security is important as it gives the young people a feeling of self-respect and that they are being respected by others.

By the end of 2017 15.1 percent young people at the between 15 and 29 were living in Slovenia. In general, most of them were satisfied with their lives and according to a survey the satisfaction of young people has risen in the last five years.

The Youth Council of Slovenia emphasised that one of the main challenges is to search for a first employment and, to gain a stabile job.

The Slovenian ministry of labour stated that the issue of employment of young people is steadily getting better.

One problematic area is also how to solve the housing situation of young people.

The UN General Council declared August the 12th as the International Youth day to give the youth the possibility to increase awareness about their position and their problems.

Organised crime and armed conflicts are endangering around 400 million young people globally.
