Slovenia is celebrating the 240th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt. Triglav today.
A ceremony marking the anniversary will be held in Bohinj today.
Mt Triglav was climbed on 26 August 1778 by four men from Bohinj. They carved their initials in the rock at the top of the mountain. It has become a national symbol of Slovenia.
