Inspectors have now also closed the Christmas stalls selling drinks in Koper and Maribor. That following last week's closure of Ljubljana's stalls. The government has placed a ban on outdoor food and drink stalls to reduce the spread of Covid-19 infections. The rule previously said the markets should be fenced off to make sure only visitors with Covid-passes are allowed in, but later decided to completely ban the selling of food and drinks at open-air stalls. Andrej Krmac, a representative of the Koper vendors, says the closures are unlawful and illegitimate. Vendors complain about the impact the rule has on their businesses. Ljubljana officials operating the Christmas markets say they will seek justice in court.
