It wants next year's budget to ensure compliance with EU's fiscal recommendations, and is urging Slovenia to correct its plans as soon as possible.

The government submitted the 2019 budget plan by the mid-October deadline, but the commission said it contained only measures that had been already adopted.

The government did initially decide to delay revising the budget due to a series of open issues, including the public sector pay negotiations and the abolishment of austerity measures.
