A bushfire near Ajdovščina in western Slovenia has been contained. Firefighters however said it will not be completely extinguished until the first rainfall.
It is believed that the fire was caused by ashes that were thrown out while still containing glowing embers. Police will launch proceedings against an elderly man who dumped ashes outside. He is facing a fine of up to 600 euros.
The fire broke out on Sunday afternoon.
It spread over more than 50 hectares of mainly grassland.
