The ruling coalition met today to discuss tax reform. After the meeting PM Robert Golob pointed out: "We know that today Slovenia is among the most taxed in terms of labour in the world and, on the other hand, among the least taxed in terms of property.”
Golob announced that the burden on income tax would be relieved as early as next year, as well as changes to the property tax, which would be introduced in 2025. He added: It is important to first find out what the net income of individual persons is and at the same time what their individual assets are, and only then start dealing with changes. According to Golob the changes will go in the direction of transparency, transparency of real assets and real incomes, and then changes in income tax legislation and changes in property tax legislation.
