Yesterday it received an official decree to stop using facilities it renovated after a fire in 2017.

Officials say the company did not have all the necessary permits for its newly-built underground water tank, which has now been labelled as an illegal construction and must be removed be the end of June next year.

Kemis says the measure is unreasonable, adding that it processed over 13,000 tonnes of Slovenian waste in the past six months.

Vrhnika locals have long been pushing for the company to leave the town, accusing it of pollution.
