Slovenia is bracing for a heatwave, which is expected to peak on Saturday. Officials believe temperatures could climb up to 39 degrees.
Some cooling off is expected during the evening. The heat wave is forecast to end next Tuesday or Wednesday.
Records may fall. The highest temperature ever measured in Ljubljana in July was 37.6 degrees. That could be exceeded on Saturday, while record-breaking temperatures are also expected in other parts of the country.
Some rainfall is expected in the coming week, which would help with water shortages but not fully solve things.
