Slovenia's Martin Čater won the first World Cup downhill of the season in France's yesterday.
This was the first podium finish for the 27-year-old Čater, who started the race with the number 41.
He finished 0.22 seconds ahead of Austria's Otmar Striedinger and 0.27 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Urs Kryenbühl, who won third place.
Čater is only the third Slovenian male World Cup downhill winner since independence after Andrej Jerman and Boštjan Kline.
