Slovenia celebrates Sovereignty Day today. It commemorates the day in 1991 when the last soldiers of the Yugoslav Army left the country.
Slovenia declared independence on 25 June leading to a short war that ended in a ceasefire. The last Yugoslav soldiers left the country on this day in 1991.
Sovereignty Day was celebrated for the first time in 2015. It is a national holiday but not a work-free day.
