At least 57 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Slovenia.

The first school was closed today after a teacher tested positive for the virus. The Fran Albreht Primary School in Kamnik will remain closed for 2 weeks. Strict measures were meanwhile put in place at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana where 7 cases were confirmed.

The government also introduced health checks along its border with Italy to prevent further transmission of the virus across the border. Italy today entered its second day of a national lockdown and passed 10,000 confirmed infections.

While Slovenia remains without a death case due to coronavirus, one of the first individuals to test positive was transferred into intensive care today.
