In the past two months a number of NGO's have come together to stage nature protection events. Among the loudest is the Balkan River Defence NGO. Protesters stepped up their action after the recent passing of amendments to the Nature Conservation Act, which make it less possible to environmentally challenge construction projects. NGO activists prepared a number of activities along the Sava river to raise awareness about environmental issues. People joined in by hiking, cycling, paddling and even swimming along the Sava River. The Balkan River Defence NGO, which organized the event, say the activities also represented a fight for the rights of civil society and democracy. Activities took place at 25 sections along the entire stretch of the Sava River in Slovenia.

Slovenia's tourism vouchers will be available for use between the 19th of June and 31st of December 2020. The government is giving them to everyone who has permanent residency in Slovenia. Every adult will receive a voucher worth 200 euros; children will receive 50 euros.

Lockdown measures across the globe seem to be easing, but social platforms have started introducing stricter control measures when it comes to uploading Covid-19 content. Youtube says all content that questions or contradicts official statements of the World Health Organization about the coronavirus, will be blocked, taken down, or tagged as fake news.

The Slovene Ethnographic Museum started collecting coronavirus jokes to document this period in history. The museum publishes new jokes on its website everday. So far, the team has collected more than 700 jokes connected to the new coronavirus.

On Monday, Slovenia launched a research on the spread of covid-19 in the country. 3000 people have been invited to participate. Tests should be carried out within a week. The survey is considered a unique case in the world. Meanwhile, Germany is expected to test the entire population for antibodies in the coming months.

The Slovenian football league will try wrap up this year's season, and start playing again on the 23rd of May. All the matches are to be played behind closed doors. Other national championships have also vowed to follow UEFA's instructions and finish this year's season on the pitch.
