Peter Kauzer finished 4th in the final round of canoeing's slalom World Cup in Prague today, leaving him 2nd in the overall standings for the season.

The competition was won by local favourite Jiri Prskavec, who also took the overall title.

Kauzer narrowly missed out on the podium, on the day he celebrates his 36th birthday, but said that he was satisfied with his season, having won three races this year.

Meanwhile, in cycling, Primož Roglič won a sprint to the line with his nearest rival, Alessandro Valverde, to finish 8th on today's tough mountain stage from Tineo to Puerto del Acebo.

The stage was won by America's Sepp Kuss in a time of 4 hours and 19 minutes.

Tadej Pogačar remains in 3rd place in the General Classification, also finishing alongside his main competition for a podium spot in Madrid next Sunday, Miguel Angel Lopez.

Tomorrow stage is another tough one in the mountains which could decide the outcome of this year's race.
