The first stage of the 108th edition of Tour the France finished today with French Julien Alaphilippe putting on the yellow jersey of the lead and becoming the first French rider to win stage 1 in 20 years. Primož Roglič was 3rd, Tadej Pogačar 6th.
After the race Pogačar stated he was satisfied and that Alaphilippe was the strongest today.

Today was also strenuous because of two mass crashes of cyclists.

The tour continues tomorrow, with a diverse stage finishing at the most famous ascent Mur-de-Bretagne – the Breton wall. The Tour de France covers over 3.400 km in 21 stages. It ends on the 18th of July at the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
