Christmas celebrations are continuing during the whole day in Slovenia and elsewhere.

Another part of celebrations are also live nativity scenes which are shown around Slovenia. Famous ones are at the Postojna caves, at the Zoo in Ljubljana, and in Mojstrana.

At the Zoo not only the employees will re-live the Christmas story but also their animals. Sheep, a donkey and camels will be part of the scene.

The Postojna nativity scene is 5 km long and this year, the 29th edition takes place. More than 150 local actors will show 16 scenes from the Christmas story.

Another tradition on Christmas day is held in Bled, one of the most romantic places in Slovenia.

Here the immersion of the church bell is set up each year on Christmas day

It follows the story of the wishing bell in the church on the island.

According to legend a mourning widow whose husband was killed by robbers decided to recast all their fortune into a bell and donate this to the church on the island.

When the bell was being transported to the island, a storm came up and the boat with the bell sank.

The widow went to a convent in Rome afterwards and when the pope heard the story he donated a new bell.

Also, members of the diving club and the soprano Singer Jana Hvala will be part of the scene.
