Three local communities in Kras that were damaged by fires have launched a campaign to restore nearly 4000 hectares of destroyed land.
Firefighters from all over Slovenia and other countries have managed to save villages and houses, but there was massive damage to forests, fields, and vineyards. Experts beleive it will take decades for the area to recover.
The communities are launching a site called skupajzakras.si .
People can also donate by sending the word KRAS5 to the number 1919 to donate five euros or KRAS10 to the number 1919 to donate 10 euros.
