The first international ballet festival Dance Nights is starting at the Cankarjev Dom arts centre in Ljubljana tonight. Running until Monday, it will pay tribute to legendary ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev on the 30th anniversary of his death.
The festival includes various events such as a lecture by Charles Jude, a screening of the Nureyev biopic White Crow, an exhibition showcasing costumes and unpublished photos, and ballet performances by renowned companies like the Sofia Opera and Ballet, Maribor SNG Opera and Ballet, and the Belgrade National Theatre.
The festival will conclude with a performance of The Great Gatsby by the Ljubljana SNG Opera and Ballet on Monday.
