As Slovenia prepares for its presidency of the European Union, this will be a chance to promote the Slovenian language. This will take place also with interpretation to and from Slovenian. The Slovenian association of Conference interpreters wishes that Slovenian would be used as much as possible on official events and meetings. According to officials 91 events out of 185 in total will be held with interpretation services. Ministerial meetings are normally organised with 6 languages – English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and the language of the presiding member state.
Due to the Covid-19-pandemic the nature of event has changed. Many events are now held online or as hybrid events where some participants are present live and some via video kinks.
