Nova Gorica will be Europe's Capital of Culture in 2025. The EU Capitals of Culture Expert Panel chose Nova Gorica over Ptuj, Ljubljana and Piran. Nova Gorica will share the title in 2025 together with Germany's Chemnitz.
Nova Gorica plans to have more than 600 events during its spell and will co-host the culture capital project together with Italy's Gorizia. The main slogan will be "Go! Borderless."
