The family of the murdered Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia has called on the Slovenian EU Presidency to intervene in the 160km-long controversial gas pipeline.

According to the family, it is a corrupt business in which one of the main defendants is involved in the murder of the journalist.

Galizia's son Matthew Caruana Galizia is the director of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation.
Domen Petelin, official spokesman of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency, emphasizes that both the implementation and the financing of an individual project are in the hands of the European Commission.
