Minister for Health Janez Poklukar has called on the Slovenian public to hang on a little bit longer with self-protection measures against COVID-19, in an attempt to return to normality.

His words come at the start of the May holidays when many people head to other countries, especially Croatia.

He also urged the public to get vaccinated, saying that large quantities of vaccines were on the way and that they were effective.

Poklukar said that he looked forward to life without a mask, children being able to return to school full time as well as people being able to go to the seaside and visit friends and family without any worries about contracting or spreading the virus.
