The proposal involves distributing shares to policyholders and returning the initial investment to the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia, but it faces opposition within Vzajemna due to concerns about autonomy, future ownership, and job security.

President of the Vzajemna trade union Vlasta Vizjak urged the government to reconsider and withdraw the bill that she says jeopardizes the future of 360 employees at Vzajemna and their families.

Some employees have already left Vzajemna; by the end of the year, the total number of employees at Vzajemna will be reduced by 65.
