The premises will be formally unveiled by Prime Minister Miro Cerar and Health Minister Milojka Kolar Celarc. The construction of the ER started in mid-2007. The initial plan was to have it built by the end of 2009.

The first and second phase of the project have been completed. The third phase is yet to be finished. It includes the construction of a dispatch center, main lab, and the reconstruction of the trauma, gynecology, and pediatric surgery units. The ministry has earmarked some EUR 21.7m for the project’s third phase for next year and another EUR 11.3m in 2019.
