Police are investigating if drugs played role in the death of a child left in a hot car. The two-year-old died after being left in a hot car alone. Police said charges will be filed against the parents after they found drugs in their home. Both were tested to see if they were under the influence when the child died.
The incident happened near the city of Celje. It is the first such case in the country.
Under Slovenian law, neglect and maltreatment of a child carries a prison sentence of up to three years.
