Slovenian ski lift operators are asking the government to extend the validity of tourist vouchers into the next year, so they could cover some of their profit losses from the shortened last ski season. The season was deemed “disastrous” due to a lack of snow and the coronavirus pandemic. They also warned that setting restrictions on the number of skiers at the slopes would greatly cut into their profits. Ski lift operators are eligible for financial aid aimed at covering their fixed costs. But they still fear that there will be no way of covering the missed profits of last season or even stay afloat in the upcoming ski season.
