Slovenia recorded its highest daily figure of new Covid-19 infections yesterday. Over 5,000 PCR tests came back positive. The positivity rate was at around 50%. At the same time many hospitals face staff shortages after sending high-risk contacts into quarantine. Health Minister Janez Poklukar announced a new Vaccination Days campaign to run from Thursday until Saturday at locations across the country. Yesterday he said the best defense against Omicron and hospitalization is vaccination. Meanwhile the government urges employers to allow more work from home.
