The decision comes after a twenty-year-old woman died within a fortnight after receiving the shot.

The move was proposed by the special advisory group for vaccination at the National Institute of Public Health. The suspension will be in place until all the circumstances of the woman's death have been cleared up, the minister said.

A total of 120,000 Slovenians have been vaccinated with the Janssen vaccine so far. The vaccine was popular as it requires only one shot instead of two.

Earlier today, the government said would purchase an additional 100,000 doses of the Janssen vaccine from Hungary.
