The 080 18 01 helpline is intended for those who have trouble reaching their community health centre by phone, are unable to get information on making a doctor's appointment or who have health insurance and want to visit a doctor's office, but have no named GP.

Health Minister Danijel Bešič Loredan noted that callers will however not be able to order an electronic referral or a prescription via the helpline.

The pilot project aims to ease the burden of healthcare providers and improve the accessibility of public healthcare. Its end goal is to set up a fully functioning national call centre by summer, merging all existing call centres into it.
