FM Anže Logar is in Moscow today for talks with Russia's FM Sergey Lavrov. After meeting his Russian counterpart, Logar said Slovenia will strive for reducing EU-Russia tensions and for coexistence with the Russian Federation. Relations between the EU and Russia have been strained because of the situation in Ukraine, Belarus, and the jailing of Russian opposition figures. Russia's FM Lavrov expressed willingness to normalize relations with the EU, but based on equality and mutual respect. Slovenia will take over the EU presidency on the 1st of July.
