The Slovenian women's volleyball team lost their final match in Pool A at Eurovolley, the European Volleyball Championships. They were beaten 3-1 by Ukraine. Slovenia took the first set by 25 points to 19 but narrowly lost the next two, 25-23 and 26-24.
The final set was easier for Ukraine, with a score of 25-17, as Slovenia battled valiantly to the end.
Slovenia's narrow chances of qualifying for the next round are now over.
They had needed a 3-1 victory against the Ukrainians and other results to go their way to ensure progress to the Round of 16, which begins on Saturday.
