The most important Borštnik theatre festival in Slovenia had to start and finish due to the increased pandemic situation. Therefore, the organisers presented yesterday the biggest honour – the Borštnik ring to Peter Boštjančič, a member of the Slovenian National Theatre ensemble in Maribor. The first Borštnik ring was presented 50 years ago – in 1970.
Mr. Boštjančič come from a family where his uncle Sandi Krošl also received the Borštnik ring – namely 20 years ago. As an actor he was deeply characterised by his role of Hamlet. In the 1990s he established the Studio theatre where professional and amateur actors mixed.
