According to reports from TV Slovenija, the company did not submit all the required certificates. Another alleged problem is that one of the company's executives reportedly has a police record. The Turkish bid for the project was worth EUR 89.3m, excluding Value Added Tax. It was by far the cheapest of the nine bids submitted. State-run highway operator DARS selected the Turkish contractor in July, but three of the rival bidders filed for a review.
