Prime Minister Robert Golob and President Borut Pahor visited the Kras region in western Slovenia yesterday where a large fire had been raging for ten days. It now appears to be under control. They promised government help for the region.
Local businessman Ivo Noscarol said he would donate the amount that the government allocates for firefighters and volunteers.
Some 2,000 people were actively involved in the efforts to put out the fire, including help from abroad.
