Africa swine fever is approaching the country.
Authorities have declared the area along the south-eastern border with Croatia as a high-risk area. Officials will actively search for dead wild boars and sample domestic pigs and wild boars.
Croatia has recently reported 97 cases in domestic pigs and three cases in wild boars.
One wild boar case was confirmed in the Karlovac County, some 50 km from the border with Slovenia.
