The Arriva group accounts for nearly half of all coach and public bus transport in Slovenia. Despite the strike, bus transport will not come to a complete stop. Buses will operate in the morning and afternoon rush hours. Lines serving key institutions such as hospitals, on the other hand, will operate throughout the day.

Bus and coach drivers are demanding a wage increase in gross hourly pay from less than five euros to seven, better work conditions for drivers on shorter routes, additional pension benefits, and consistent honoring of labor and work safety rules.
